QARARUNA

Qararunaadopts, mainly, two implementation approaches:

●Provision of capacity-building to CSOs and CBOs, implemented by the Center for Strategic Studies-Jordanian University.

●Provision of financial assistance (sub-grants) to eight CSOs, especially those who are members of national coalitions.

Qararuna themes are diverse and tackle a number of fields, including themes such as voter information and civic education, election observation, monitoring parliamentary performance, increasing the capacity of CSOs to form coalitions, contribute to policymaking and lobby parliament and government, and increasing the participation of women and youth in policymaking and the democratic process.

Qararuna aims at deepening the role of civil society organisations (CSOs)in contributing to democratic governance and policymaking, through fostering the development of active CSOs in the promotion of political participation, advocacy, electoral observation and parliamentary monitoring with a focus on women and youth.

○      Enhancing the role of CSOs promoting women and youth political participation.

○      Observing fair and equal local electoral processes by CSOs & CBOs.

○      Monitoring of Parliamentary performance through publications, reports and other statements published by local CSOs.

○      Launching national/local advocacy initiatives by local CSOs to monitor policy processes and human rights situation in Jordan.

○      Establishing CSOs/CBOs collations for promoting democratic participation.

1-    Establishing the Youth Leadership Networks at the Northern Territory implemented by AFAQ Jordan for Development and Training.

2-    Strengthening participatory governance in Ma’an through youth support to community engagement in local decision-making implemented by Al Qantara Center for Human Resources Development.

3-    Monitoring of 2020 Parliamentary Elections - Ensuring integrity and transparency in electoral preparations implemented by Al-Hayat Consultancy for Development Research/ RASED.

4-    Enhancing the role of Eye Jordan Coalition in implementing Jordan's Obligations and Commitments implemented by the Center for Defending Freedom of Journalists (CDFJ).

5-    Strengthening the role of civil society, contributing to democratization, good governance and policy making in Jordan implemented by the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS).

6-    Enhancing human rights and civic space during and in the aftermath of the crisis in Jordan: The Neighborhood Watch Coalition (NWC) Human Rights and Civic Space Observatory (HRCS) implemented by Lawyers without Borders.

7-    Empowering Jordanian CBOs to Enhance Local Parliamentary Accountability implemented by We Participate for Civil Society Development.

8-    Ain: Eye on Women implemented by Solidarity is Global Institute (SIGI).

9-    “My Vote, My call” implemented by Tafilah Woman Charitable Society.
